The Lancaster Barnstormers are a member of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball playing at Clipper Magazine Stadium which opened in 2005 seating 4,600 to 7,000 fans. Previously it was named “#1 Ballpark in the Country” by Ballpark Digest. The Barnstormers were playing the Charles Dirty Birds trouncing them 14-4. The Box Score was Dirty Birds R-4, H-6, E-1 Barnstormers R-14, H-18, E-0. The Barnstormers had 7 home runs. The field lines are RF- 300', CF-400', LF-320'. There is game info below the suite seating with pitcher name and #. The Dirty Bird pitcher was run at 2 1/3 innings and 7 Barnstormers runs on the board. Storm player #21 was thrown in the bottom of the 8th for contesting a strike call. The 200 level is all suites. The broadcast booth is on the main level behind home plate. There is a berm at the end of the 1st baseline that goes around to centerfield. You can walk around the park. There is a kids area protected with netting at the end of the 1st baseline that includes a carousal. The netting is low and slopes to nothing at the end of the dugouts. Very little shade for an evening game because of the field layout. Season ticket seats have advertising seat cover. Thursday night is Military Appreciation, Active and Retired military receive a complimentary ticket, which I did. There were cards in the cupholder and advertising on the big screen encouraging people to become instructional assistants in the local school district. The pitch speed clock is in the lower right of the video board. There was no pitch clock tonight, not sure why. The mascot is Cylo. Frozen T-Shirt contest tonight. Neither guys could get the opened and on in the time period given. Surprised I havent see more of this activity with the weather as hot as it has been. The foul poles are painted pink rather than the standard yellow. Stadium Row apartment in RC but their view of the field is covered by advertising signs. Parking can be a walk unless you get there early, especially if you have to get your ticket and enter the main entrance. If you have your tickets there is a CF entrance that can be used at the end of the game as well to leave. Tile wall inside main entrace tell about Dick Scott who brouht baseball to Lancaster.
