The Fredericksburg Nationals are a Carolina League Single A affiliate of the Washington Nationals playing at Virginia Credit Union Stadium. The stadium opened in 2021, seating 5,000, with a 300-seat club facility, and 13 suites. The field and warning track is synthetic turf, with a dirt infield. The Nationals were playing the Salem Red Sox winning 7-1. The box Score was Red Sox R-1, H-3, E-1 and Nationals R-7, H-9, E-0. The field lines are RF-327', CF-400', LF-327'. There is a manual scoreboard in RCF that is operated from the front. The one run scored by the Red Sox was a towering home run that cleared the advertising signage in left field. The Bullpens are RF and LF. There is a club level behind home plate on the main concourse level with suites above. There are party areas at the ends of the 200 level. There is seating with counters at the end of each baseline, considered Terrace Boxes. There is a group suite at field level in LF. There is a children's play area behind right field. There are some ads on the fence, with most on standards beyond the field. Safety netting ends at the end of the dugouts. On the video screen the Red Sox players had dog ears, nose, and tongue as this was a Bark in the Park night. As the game progresses into darkness the background on the video board changed to night. The Nationals starter injured his right leg before the beginning of the third inning with a ambulance being called to take him off the field. Later in the game on a fair ball down the 1st baseline the 1st baseman and umpire ran into each other. The 1st baseman went down but was able to get up and continue in the game. Marcus Brown who had just joined the team hit a single and 2 RBIs on his first at bat. He went 2-3 for the game. The mascot is Gus. Supposedly young George Washington had an imaginary friend named Gus. The bright advertising lighting on the wall above the LF suite and bullpen makes it hard to follow a ball hit to left field at night. Last call was the bottom of the 9th.
