Lewis & Clark Murals
Southern Hills Mall
Sioux City, SD
At the Southern Hills Mall in Sioux City, SD is the largest Lewis & Clark Mural collection that we saw. You can experience the journey by viewing the permanent exhibit of 38 scenes that stretches 296 feet. The murals are in the central court area and are painted high above the stores in the mall. The murals are a recipient of the "Meritorious Achievement" Award from the Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foundation. The murals were painted by Split Rock Studios and commissioned by Southern Hills Mall. I took pictures of them and then cleaned up the picture edges because I got a lot of framing and edges of adjacent pictures. The murals are copyrighted by Split Rock Studios and SDG Macerich Properties. Split Rock Studios painted the murals at Louis & Clark Voyage of Discovery Interpretive Center in Sioux City.
