The Kingsport Mets or K-Mets, an Appalachian Rookie League affiliate of the New York Mets play at Hunter W. Wright Baseball Stadium, which was build in 1995. Hunter W. Wright was the mayor of Kingsport and responsible for building the new stadium. This is a nice small stadium. Many fans bring in their own lawn chairs and sit above the stadium seating on the first base side. The Mets were playing the Greeneville Astros and won a shut-out 3-0. The box score was Astros R-0, H-5, E-1 and Mets R-3, H-7, E-1. The field lines are RF & LF-330', RC & LC'370', CF-400. Foulball Freddy is the mascot. Reserved seats in the first three rows down each base and three sections behind homeplate, but they are not assigned. The kids wait above the first base side and outside the fence for foul balls.
